Firefighter or fire-watcher?

Read the news first at http://www.wpsdlocal6.com/news/local/Firefighters-watch-as-home-burns-to-the-ground-104052668.html.

To brief the news, in Obion County, Tennessee, of course in US, a house caught fire and firefighters came with fire trucks and just watched the house burning to the ground. And they watered on the field around the house to keep the fire  spread to neighbours’ house.

It was because the house owner did not pay $75 annual fire protection fee. The owner begged and asked but was only told “It’s too late.”

The Americans frequently keep saying that their country is the best, but I think could be worst. Fire and police are the very basic service that government should offer. It is the most ridiculous idea that people should pay annual fire fee.

It’s like a girl called 911 for being raped, and police came to find out that the girl did not pay annual police fee and the officer just said, “You did not pay the police fee, so let him do that.” And he just watches the girl being raped.

There are some things which cannot be explained by money and the Americans and their government obviously do not understand that. And, and it is just $75, NOT $750 or $7500! Was he the Iraqi president who said that Government of the people, by the people, and FOR the people?

Some of my Canadian friends’ response to this news? They are happy to be in Canada. 🙂

Emergency phone number

A few days ago, I had a chance to go into the Sobey’s storing place in the back where employees only can go in and near the employee’s desk with phone, I saw a big posting on the wall titled “EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBERS.”

EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER

POLICE: 911

FIRE: 911

AMBULANCE: 911

What is that! 😦

National Treasure burnt

Yesterday evening on the CityNews, I heard that the National Treasure Number One of South Korea was burnt down and the whole country fell in shock. It was shock to me.

When I saw the scene that it burnt and fell down, I also fell on the floor, and I did not even noticed that I fell. Tears came out of my eyes.

I am so so so sad. Well, the South Gate is kind of symbol for South Korea. It is more than the Statue of Liberty to Americans.

Actually, it was kept safely before but MB Lee, who is going to be next President of Korea, opened it to the public access when he was the mayor of Seoul. And I think it could be a bad omen or evil portent because it burnt out just before he takes the presidential office.
