The same day my church gave me the wonderful Lexus, I received a package from Amazon. It was on my wife’s name (and I found my name on it later as well), so I did not open it. She came home the next day (she slept over at her sister’s house). When she came home, I asked her what she ordered from Amazon. She said nothing.
교회에서 렉서스를 받은 바로 그 날, 아마존에서 택배가 왔다. 아내 이름으로 와서 (나중에 내 이름도 써 있는 걸 발견했다) 뜯지 않고 남겨뒀다. 아내가 다음날 와서 (여동생네 집에서 잤다) 아마존에서 뭘 또 샀냐고 물어보니 아무 것도 안샀다는 것이다.
We opened the huge box and there was two car seat cover cushions with electric warmer. I did not order it, neither my wife. And I found the gift message. It was from the PNC (Pastor Nominating Committee) in Southern Indiana where I applied.
큰 상자를 뜯어보니 자동차 시트 덮개 쿠션이 두 개 있는데, 열선이 포함되어 있는 것이다. 나는 이런 걸 주문한 적이 없고, 아내도 없다고 한다. 상자에서 선물 메세지를 발견했다. 내가 지원했던 남부 인디애나 주에 있는 목사 청빙 위원회에서 보낸 것이었다.
The cost of the gift is little more then $30, but the price is not important. I was so deeply moved, not because it is expensive but because of the fact that they think of me. They knew that my car’s heater is not working. We just met only once and I am not their pastor, but merely one of applicants.
선물 가격은 30불이 조금 넘는다. 하지만 가격이 중요한 게 아니다. 정말 감동을 받았는데, 비싼 선물이어서가 아니라, 그들이 날 생각해 준다는 사실 때문이었다. 내 차 히터가 작동하지 않는 걸 알고 있어서 이걸 사준 것이다. 단지 한 번 만났을 뿐인데, 내가 목사도 아니고 단지 수많은 지원자 중 한명일 뿐이데 말이다.
I installed it on my old Neon where there is not heater. This Christmas was literally the warmest one. Praise be to God and thanks to Southern Indiana PNC.
이걸 히터가 없는 옛차인 네온에 설치했다. 이번 성탄절은 정말 말 그대로 가장 따뜻한 성탄절이 되었다. 하나님께 찬양을 드리고, 남부 인디애나의 목사 청빙 위원회에도 감사를 드린다.
