Xing

When I was in Canada, I don’t believe I’ve seen a sign saying ‘Xing,’ which I see a lot in America. It, of course, means CROSSING.

It is like writing Xmas for Christmas. Well the reason for Xmas for Christmas is the word of CHRIST in Greek begins with X – Χριστός.

Well, I think this kind of small differences come from the different personality of the two countries. Canada feels like conservative and caring while America is feels much lighter and practical.

Well… not only Xing, Americans changed many other spellings such as from plough to plow and from through to thru.
