Fook mi?

A few days ago, I saw the movie, Austin Powers in Goldmember.

There are two Japanese girls who have really strange names – Fook mi and Fook yu.

‘Fook mi’ sounds like ‘Fuck me’ in English. But these two names are not strange in Japanese.

Fook, which should be fuku, stands for blessing. Mi stands for beauty, and Yu (mostly yuu) for elegance.

So, fuku mi (not fuck me) is nice and beautiful girl’s name.
