Politics in church

Politics is one of what I do not like. Politics comes out of human desire – The desire to get more, the desire to go higher. And politics comes out of human fear – The fear that one could lost what he has. One could lost his wealthy or status.

Just because desire and fear are the nature of man, where there are men over two, there is politics.

Think about Jesus and politics. Even though Jesus did not say that He hates politics, we know at least Jesus did not come to play politics.

People tried to make Jesus king over them, but Jesus fled. Jesus came to be the one and only King of kings over all the universe. But He is spiritual King. He did not want to be a political king. He came to free His people. But that was not in aspect of politics. He has freed His people from sin and death, the death of spirit and soul.

Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s (Matthew 22:21, King James Version)

This verse has at least two different meaning:

One is that the believers must do the duties for both God and the earthly authorities.

The other, which I want to say now, is that Jesus split politics and religion.

The disciples of Jesus tried to play politics – each of them wanted to be higher than other disciples. As a result, they argued and at last they went to Jesus and asked of Him in Matthew 18, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven”.

Jesus commanded to be humble and to become like a little child, in other words, “Do not play politics“.

See the churches which claim themselves as the disciples of Jesus. There are politics between and among the churches. There are politics within the church.

A church is full of politics. Church members struggle and play politics. It is disgusting. They are all disgusting. The bible teaches to sacrifice oneself for others but all the children of the church sacrifices others for themselves.

To go into the heaven, to be a citizen of heaven, to be a real disciple of Christ Jesus, one must be humble, sacrifice himself, and STOP playing politics right now. The sooner, the better.
